QGas Documentation

Welcome to the documentation for QGas - Interactive Gas Infrastructure Toolkit.

This documentation is intended for new users (operation and workflows) and for developers (project structure and module overview).

QGas is a map-based toolkit for building, exploring, and editing gas infrastructure datasets while preserving network topology. It is designed for planning and research workflows where the geometry, connectivity, and metadata of pipelines and nodes must remain consistent as the network evolves.

Typical use cases include importing existing infrastructure, rerouting or extending pipelines, adding new assets (e.g., storage, LNG, power plants, hydrogen lines), and managing attributes for scenario analysis. QGas supports precise edits on individual assets as well as larger-scale modifications across entire networks, making it suitable for both operational studies and long-term infrastructure planning.
